Semi-abstract landscapes painted on canvas with acrylic paint...
One autumn day, a few years ago, whilst walking along Durley Chine Beach, I came across these beautiful pools left behind by the receding tide. The colours and reflections captured in the water were mesmerising, and I knew I needed to paint them one day.

Over the years I've been lucky enough to be able to visit this part of the world a few times. I found the scenery and weather to be ever changing, giving an endless source of creative inspiration.
The landscapes are huge, remote and wild. The colours are subtle, yet constantly shifting.
I wanted this piece to capture wildness of the place in the texture of the paint and free movement of my paint strokes.

This piece was inspired by a beautiful beach on the North Island of New Zealand. With its dramatic rock features and turquoise waters; it was hard not to be inspired to paint the scenery.
